MADISON + BRYCE // ORCHARD BARN WEDDING

What made you decide to invest in wedding videography?

We decided to invest in wedding videography because i love the idea of capturing memories in motion - a belief that was instilled in me by my granddad. He was a big believer in capturing life's special moments on video, and thanks to him, so many of my biggest milestones have been recorded and cherished over the years. Having a wedding video means i can continue the tradition reliving emotions, laughter and love of the day over and over again. I still find joy watching weddings i've been part of as flower girl and junior bridesmaid, always picking up little things and having a good laugh. its those preserved memories that become truly priceless.

Why did you choose Castle Media?

We chose Castle Media because your pricing, especially as part of the package with Simone Harris, was not only appealing but fit perfectly within our budget. It offered incredible value for what was included, without compromising on quality. I was also drawn to your strong reputation - everyone speaks so highly of your work and how effortlessly you capture the day. Most of all, I love your candid style - natural, genuine, and full of emotion. It was exactly what we were looking for to relive our day in the most authentic way.

What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What's important in life?

Bryce and I live busy, hands-on life that keeps s grounded in nature, family and community.

I work for DBCA - Parks and Wildlife in Nature Conservation, a job that allows me to spend my days helping protect and care for the environment. I mostly work with the cute and cuddly creatures, which is always a joy, but my role is diverse - I also work across areas like weed control, nature reserve management, flora monitoring and feral animal management. Every day is different, and I love that my work contributes to preserving the natural beauty around us.

Bryce works for Forest Products Commission as the Fire Protection Coordinator. His job is equally dynamic and crucial - assessing fire risks, managing fire equipment, liaising with various community groups and overseeing controlled burning, particularly within pine plantations. His role plays a key part in protecting both forest resources and the broader community from fire threats.

When we are not working during the week, we head straight to our farm in Denmark, WA, where we care for our Merino sheep and get stuck into all the day-to-day jobs that come with farm life. On top of that we're regularly juggling the busy schedules of my two children - Easton & Duke - especially their various sports and activities. Life is full on, but its full of purpose.

Breaks don't come often, but when they do, we make the most of them. You'll usually find us at the beach - fishing, swimming, or just exploring the coastline. We love the outdoors and try to fit in camping or walking trails whenever we can. For us, the simple things bring the most joy.. At the heart of everything we do, family and friends remain the most important past of our lives. Whether we're working hard, chasing after the kids, or soaking up nature, its the people we share it with that make it all worthwhile.

The proposal...

Our Proposal was perfectly us - a little bit chaotic, full on unexpected moments and totally unforgettable.

The day before, Bryce has asked my dad for my hand in marriage, which meant the world to me. But true to our style, the actual proposal didnt come with fanfare or a big production. Ir was just like any other afternoon - we were heading down the beach for a drink after a day on the farm, with the dog on the back of the ute and a plan to unwind by the coast.

On the way, we spotted something on the side of the road - a cat with a litter of kittens. Everything scattered as we approached, but I managed to scoop up one tiny kitten. it was bloody cute, but as much as we're not cat people, we couldn't just leave it to fend for itself (or worse, harm the native wildlife). That left us in a bit of a dilemma - killing it wasn't an option, but we also had no idea what to do with it. So, we brought it along to the beach with us, hoping someone might want to take it.

Not long after, i started itching like crazy - turns out the kitten was covered in fleas and ticks. I was already getting swarmed, so we wrapped the kitten in Bryce's beanie to stop anymore from getting on me. When we got to the beach, I leapt out of the ute and did a full body shake trying to flick off the fleas and ticks, kitten still in the beanie.

We couldn't leave it in the ute, as it could get into the engine, so naturally the kitten came along from the beach walk - with our dog Ziggy absolutely fascinated. I spent the whole time holding the kitten above my head trying to keep Ziggy from jumping up and getting to it. Totally distracted by the whole circus unfolding around me.

Eventually, we made it to the rocks at boat harbour. I was so preoccupied with the kitten and dog, that i didn't even notice Bryce trying to talk to me. When I finally looked up, there he was - with the ring, asking me to marry him. My first words were "oh my god, you asked my dad!", Then came laughter and happy tears. I said yes straight away, but not before making Bryce get down on one knee and asking again properly.

I still couldn't tell you exactly what he said inthat moment, but I know it came straight from his heart - because thats just the kind of man Bryce is. Honest and thoughtful. The kitten is now with my best friend Jade who is a cat person.

The venue? Why Orchard Barn and Manjimup Town Hall bove anywhere else?

Our Wedding venues each hold a special meaning for us and reflect different parts of our lives.

We cose to have our ceremony at the Orchard Barn because it is a true reflection of who Bryce and I are. Surrounded by Bushland, it speaks to the work we both do in conservation and fire management, and our shared love for nature. The nearby water also holds a seep connection for Bryce, who gre up by the coast and has always felt at home near water. The barn itself also gave us the perfect wet weather option for a winter wedding, with losing the rustic natural feel we wanted.

For the reception, we chose the Manjimup Town Hall - it's a placed steeped in family tradition, as my grandmother, mother and aunty all celbrated their receptions there. Beond the sentimental value, it had everything we needed - Kitchen, bar, toilets, stage - and its right in the heart of town, making it easy for everyone to come together and celebrate.

What experience do you want to give your guests?

For our wedding, we want our guests to feel completely relaxed and surrounded by love from the moment they arrive.

We're creating a day that reflects who we are - down to earth, family focussed and full of warmth. More than anything, we want it to feel like a big celebration of togetherness, where everyone - from the littlest cousins to the oldest family friends - feels welcome and comfortable to just be themselves. it's not about formality or fuss, but about laughter, connection, and sharing a fun meaningful day with people who matter most to us. we hope our guests leave feeling like they were truly part of something special.
